Breeder of AKC Champion Miniature Poodles and Chinese Cresteds
About Us
We are a small hobby breeder based in Central Florida, with over 25 years of experience in purebred dogs. Our journey began in the 90s with Labrador Retrievers, and in the early 2000s, I welcomed my first standard poodle, Ben. Rescued from a vet clinic where I worked, Ben lived to be 15 years old and became the dog that sparked my love for poodles. Although I adore standard poodles, their show coats were a bit much for me to manage, so in 2005, I bought my first show miniature poodle.
Since 2005, I have co-owned numerous AKC champions and last year, I achieved a milestone by owner-handling my first AKC miniature poodle champion under the Brymar name. Additionally in 2024 we finished our 2nd Miniature poodle Brymar Maximum Adrenaline.
In late 2020, I ventured into breeding Chinese Cresteds, a breed I fell in love with while working with a long-established Chinese Crested breeder. Now, I proudly have 1 Brymar bred finished AKC champion and 1 Grand Champion.
Breeding dogs to their AKC standards is just one aspect of my program. I place a strong emphasis on sound temperaments and health as the foundation of my breeding efforts. I firmly believe that puppies from parents with excellent temperaments and health will bring years of joy and happiness to their new families.
Guiding Principles
At Brymar Kennels, we begin teaching our puppies how to be handled from day one. We continue that until they go to their new homes. They are taught how to be bathed, clipped, nails and ears cleaned. This is a very important step in puppy development. We also work hard to acclimate them to different sounds. Around six weeks we begin working on crate training and house breaking. We believe this sets the new owner up for success with their new family member. We are also committed to ensuring that the right puppy is perfect for their new family. We carefully interview each prospective new owner and match the puppy to their lifestyle.
All puppies are sold with age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip and health certificate.
